Calling the County’s 24/7 Access Line at 1 800 654-3937. This call will start the process which can include a screening, provide linkages and referrals, and also determine eligibility for various services.

The Living Room is a social support center that provides a wide range of direct and indirect services for persons infected affected and at risk for HIV/AIDS. These services include case management client advocacy hot meals the Drop-in Center housing rapid testing for HIV and Hepatitis C and social support groups. The Living Room staff provide supportive networks fellowship information education and referrals to those infected affected and at risk for HIV/AIDS. All services are confidential. The Living Room advocates client empowerment and well-being through the development of high self-esteem based on positive attitude positive support and positive living. The Living Room services are designed to assist clients within the Central Valley to allow them to live healthy and productive lives. In addition The Living Room collaborates with all providers of HIV/AIDS services in Fresno County including but not limited to University Medical Center Special Services Department Fresno County Department of Public Health Planned Parenthood Mar Monte. Such collaborative efforts allow for the provision of more effective services to those in need within the community.

The Exodus Fresno Mental Health Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) is a recovery focused environment where youth and adults in crisis can be assessed for stabilization services, medication evaluation and management, or hospitalization if necessary. Depending on the needs of the client, our interdisciplinary treatment team is prepared to offer a full spectrum of psychiatric treatment services, including Medication evaluation Social Services and referrals Interdisciplinary treatment team of MD’s, NP’s, RN’s, MSW’s, MFT’s and peer support Linkages to a full spectrum of outpatient and inpatient mental health services The (CSU) is LPS designated which allows our staff to evaluate and involuntarily detain those individuals determined to be a danger to themselves or others or gravely disabled. These clients will receive comprehensive mental health services for up to 24 hours while enrolled at the CSU 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. MAP is the Multi-Agency Access Program and its goal is to get people to the right place, the right care, the first time. MAP is funded by the County of Fresno Department of Behavioral Health and achieves its goals through a collaboration between Kings View, Poverello House, and Centro La Familia Advocacy Services. MAP is a free service offered to all people living in Fresno County. It provides a single point of entry to help identify the needs of each individual or family, facilitates access to services, and links individuals to services relating to social and health services, public benefits, housing, and other immediate necessities to allow individuals and families to live more fulfilling lives. The benefits of going to MAP include linkages to resources that will better enable individuals to access the following services, among others: A screening tool is used to help individuals identify their needs and link them to a variety of resources and services. MAP staff, called Navigators, schedule appointments for clients based on the outcome of the screening tool, and support success by ensuring clients receive the needed services. When it comes to hardship and emotional pain the path towards healing is not around the pain; I believe healing is one’s journey through the pain. This journey is different from person-to-person and may encompass various forms of trauma. I believe the path towards healing and wellness begins with the client-counselor relationship and creating a safe space for the client to experience emotional honesty. I use an experiential approach to help clients experience emotional honesty which I describe as an alignment between one’s thoughts feelings and actions. I find that when clients achieve this alignment they are able to approach and address their issues from a place of personal integrity self-respect and with an increased capacity for coping nMy experience has included working for community based mental health agencies with various populations such as children adolescents adults and the LGBT community who have required a high level of care due to severe mental illness. I have worked with issues ranging from adjustment disorders ADHD Bipolar Disorder Depression Anxiety Substance Abuse Schizophrenia Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Personality Disorders and issues pertaining to sexual/gender identity. I have worked with clients in the contexts of individual couples families and groups. I received my Bachelors Degree in Psychology in 2010 from San Francisco State University and my Masters Degree in Counseling Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University Fresno in 2013. I have completed basic training for EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to address symptoms of traumatic stress. When I am not practicing therapy I serve as a post-graduate teacher’s assistant for California State University Fresno and provide presentations on affirmative therapy and core competencies for working with the LGBT community.
