D-Day In Fresno

D-Day in Fresno was a great success. We had about 300 people turn out for the event, with great speakers, perfomances, a fabulous emcee, Diva X, and a fantastic participation for the March from City Hall to the 41 Overpass.

Although this was a devastating day for all of us as a result of the Supreme Court decision, we came together as we will continue to do, fighting for our equality and showing our solidarity.

A special shout out and thank you to the Fresno Police Department, who, throughout the entire days events, were overwhelmingly supportive. They even pursued a couple of guys on bikes who, during the march rode by and shouted anti-gay slurs at us. In fact, the two men turned out to be in violation of their parole and were arrested. Thank you, Fresno Police Department.

And thank you to the Fresno media outlets, who stayed with us from our early morning gathering as we watched the court ruling live, all the way through the events at D-Day at City Hall.

Special thanks to all those who stayed after the march to sign up for future activism.
