Stride for Pride – Success!

On Sunday, August 27th the first ever Stride with Pride for Kids walk to benefit Children’s Hospital Central California took place at Woodward Park in Fresno, CA. Present were several groups from the LGBTQ community who participated in the event, as well as our LGBTQ community allies. A total of $8,000 + was raised to assist the families of critically ill children hospitalized in the Pediatrice Intensive Care Unit (PICU)!!

Pam and I have already started planning for Stride with Pride for Kids 2007, in which we hope to have over 2,000 walkers, and over $100,000 raised!!! By no means is this a lofty goal, because we have received such positive feedback from participants, and volunteers alike that "next year will be even better".

Stride with Pride for Kids would like to thank the following for their contributions to the success of the first ever Stride with Pride for Kids:

Mary Gamboa and her outstanding group of volunteers from Panda Express at Friant and Fort Washington for providing tasty rice bowls for lunch
